How long will it take to implement a mobile marketing program?
With some clients, we are able to get a program up and running inside of 4 weeks. Depending on the scope of the program, the level of integration, short code approval, and program approval, it may take several weeks.

What are the different ways I can leverage mobile marketing to generate revenue and brand awareness?
Most of our clients are using text messages for couponing, special promotions and alerts to their customers. Our retail apparel clients are enjoying the 10%+ response to special coupons and give-a-ways. Our supermarket clients are utilizing the timing ability of text messaging by sending out a campaign on Friday afternoons to drive dinner traffic.

Do you need to get special permission from the wireless carriers for mobile marketing?
Yes. For any mobile messaging campaign, your program will need to be approved by all the carriers that service your customers’ cell phones. M3 Mobile Marketing has relationships with all the US and Canadian carriers and we understand the process by which our clients’ programs get approved.. Buyer Beware! There are several mobile marketing companies in business today that are nothing more than just a broadcasting house and they will not go through the proper steps of getting your program approved. Failure to do so will result in your program being shut down.

What is a short code?
A short code is a special telephone number, 5 or 6 digits long, that can be used for text messaging/SMS. For all mobile marketing campaigns, the carriers require a short code to be assigned to each campaign. Short codes cannot be bought like a website address, but can only be leased through www.usshortcodes.com.

What is a vanity short code?
A vanity short code is a short code obtained by special request. Instead of getting assigned a randomly generated short code, you can specify that you want 543210 or a code that spells something meaningful like GOUSA.

How much text can you fit into a text message?
160 characters including spaces (135 in Canada). One of M3 Mobile’s specialties is shortening a text message promotion so it fits within the 160 characters and so that everyone can understand the message.

Is mobile marketing limited to just the younger generation?
No. In fact, the 35 to 55 age group is the fastest-growing segment of text messagers. Much of this growth is due to the younger generation creating a need for the older generation to use it. This is the preferred method of communication for kids and teenagers, so parents are willing to learn.

Is mobile marketing trackable?
YES. It is probably the most trackable direct marketing medium with proper integration. In addition to redemption and spending, you can track time-of-day, which can be another factor to consider when doing campaign segmentation.

What are the benefits to having a WAP/Mobile Website?
This is a great way to get your customers information when they’re away from their computers. This is effective for our clients who want to give their customers mobile functions like store locator, flight status, promotion of the day, etc. Unfortunately, today the total addressable market is very small and only about 17% of cell phone users have a data plan and the know-how to use mobile Web. This is staggering when compared with text messaging which has a total addressable market of about 95% of cell phone users.
